What did you do?
by Hoyter on Dec.02, 2007, under My Life
This is what I saw when I came into work today. I noticed it immediately as Trox gave me the background a few years ago in Clarksville. I thought the broken cd rom parts was a nice touch. I heard Brian, the DCI, was looking for management this morning.
Good Times!

I was digging through some old computer parts and found this. How much do you think it will fetch on Ebay?
Ever wonder?

Have you ever wondered why ever version of Hoyter’s Hideout has that strange comment “Wasting time since 1997″? Well your in luck. I just so happen to have photographic proof that I have been “Wasting time since 1997″ with computers and my silly little home on the interwebs.
The site back then was little more than a page full of banner ads and pop-ups. I don’t have any copy of the original site since I deleted it several years ago, but I do have a screen show from the Internet Archive. It is a snapshot of the site sometime around 2002. See how proud I was of my self? I had a large V2.0 subtext next to the header. I was showing off that this wasn’t just some fly by night website…. No, No, No my friend. I was officially up to version 2. I will not comment on the yellow text and star background gif (thankfully the archive did not cache it), but remember that was before I was as professional web developer with version 3.0.
I guess I can call the Wordpress site, somewhere between version 4 and 15 depending on how much I need to brag about my HUPER SERO (thanks cole) web developer status so solidify myself among greats like Sally and her “Cats are my family”, Bob and “Mullets and Camaros” , and we must not forget that one guy in accounting that mentioned some site about a cup… I know, off the caffeine Matt and back to your silly little site.
Geez, that was back when I was still on AOL. I just noticed the address for the mail to.
Even newer theme

I installed the second version of Cutline 2.0 and was sent into a updating frenzy. I updated Wordpress, Gallery 2, WPG2. I even found the time to get the headers working with the rollovers and WPG2 incorportated. Updating a CMS is fun. Sometime they are as simple as overwriting files and other times they involve complex rewriting of your style sheets and pages because you didn’t back up your old versions. I’ll give you one try to guess which option I ended up with.
Next up will be adjusting the colors to something a little more lively and trying to create some header images.
